2. Description of Service

Rubezahl's Proposer is an AI-powered grant proposal writing assistant. The service uses large language models to help users draft, review, and improve research grant proposals. The service includes:

AI-assisted proposal writing, planning, and improvement agents.
Automated proposal review generation.
Knowledge base management with document indexing and semantic search.
PI (Principal Investigator) profile management and web import.
An AI chatbot for proposal-related questions.
Secure server-side storage of all proposals, documents, and knowledge base files.

3. Account and Authentication

You must sign in with a Google account to use the service. We request only the minimum OAuth permissions required for authentication (name, email address, and profile picture). We do not request access to your Google Drive or any other Google services.

4. Data Storage

All content you create or upload — including proposals, documents, PI profiles, embeddings, and agent configurations — is stored securely on our own servers in Germany. Your data is never stored in third-party cloud storage. You retain full ownership of all content you create. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your proposals, documents, or data.

5. Subscription Plans, Credits, and Pricing

The service offers different subscription plans with varying credit allowances, model access, and embedding space quotas.
Credits are consumed based on actual AI model usage (token-based pricing).
Unused credits do not carry over to the next billing cycle.
A free plan with limited credits is available. Non-recurring free plans cannot be re-activated once expired.

6. Payment Processing via Stripe

Payments for paid subscription plans are processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to Stripe's End User Terms.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. The subscription renews automatically at the beginning of each billing cycle unless cancelled beforehand.
All prices are displayed in Euros (EUR) and include applicable Value Added Tax (VAT) where required by law. VAT is calculated automatically by Stripe Tax based on your location.
Your payment information (credit/debit card) is entered directly in Stripe's secure, PCI-compliant checkout. We never see, transmit, or store your full card details.
Invoices are generated and delivered by Stripe to the email address associated with your account.
If a recurring payment fails, your subscription may be cancelled and your account downgraded to the free plan. You will be notified by Stripe via email.

7. Plan Changes and Cancellation

Upgrades: You may upgrade your plan at any time. The new plan takes effect immediately. Stripe prorates charges accordingly.
Downgrades: You may downgrade your plan at any time, including to the free plan. The downgrade takes effect immediately and your Stripe subscription is cancelled (or modified).
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through the "Manage Subscription" link in your plan overview or via the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect immediately.
No refunds are provided for the current billing period upon cancellation or downgrade, unless required by applicable law (see Section 8 for your right of withdrawal).

8. Right of Withdrawal (Widerrufsrecht)

Widerrufsrecht: Sie haben das Recht, binnen vierzehn Tagen ohne Angabe von Gründen diesen Vertrag zu widerrufen. Die Widerrufsfrist beträgt vierzehn Tage ab dem Tag des Vertragsschlusses.

Zur Wahrung der Widerrufsfrist reicht es aus, dass Sie die Mitteilung über die Ausübung des Widerrufsrechts vor Ablauf der Widerrufsfrist absenden.

Folgen des Widerrufs

Wenn Sie diesen Vertrag widerrufen, haben wir Ihnen alle Zahlungen, die wir von Ihnen erhalten haben, unverzüglich und spätestens binnen vierzehn Tagen ab dem Tag zurückzuzahlen, an dem die Mitteilung über Ihren Widerruf dieses Vertrags bei uns eingegangen ist. Für diese Rückzahlung verwenden wir dasselbe Zahlungsmittel, das Sie bei der ursprünglichen Transaktion eingesetzt haben, es sei denn, mit Ihnen wurde ausdrücklich etwas anderes vereinbart; in keinem Fall werden Ihnen wegen dieser Rückzahlung Entgelte berechnet.

Haben Sie verlangt, dass die Dienstleistungen während der Widerrufsfrist beginnen sollen, so haben Sie uns einen angemessenen Betrag zu zahlen, der dem Anteil der bis zu dem Zeitpunkt, zu dem Sie uns von der Ausübung des Widerrufsrechts hinsichtlich dieses Vertrags unterrichten, bereits erbrachten Dienstleistungen im Vergleich zum Gesamtumfang der im Vertrag vorgesehenen Dienstleistungen entspricht.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
Attempt to circumvent credit limits or usage restrictions.
Share your account with others or use automated tools to access the service.
Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the service.
Use the service to generate content that infringes on intellectual property rights.

10. AI-Generated Content

Disclaimer: All content generated by Rubezahl's Proposer is AI-assisted and should be reviewed carefully before submission to any funding agency. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of generated content. You are solely responsible for the final content of any proposal you submit.

11. Data and Privacy

Your use of the service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

12. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page ("Leave and remove my data"). Upon deletion, the following is permanently removed from our servers:

Your user account and all personal data.
All proposals, proposal documents, and uploaded files.
All embeddings and vector index data.
All reviewer and writer agent configurations.
All chat history and credit transaction records.
Remaining credits are forfeited and not refunded.

If you have an active paid subscription, it will be automatically cancelled in Stripe upon account deletion. No further charges will occur.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Albatross Technologies UG shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to:

Loss of data or proposals.
Unsuccessful grant applications.
Service interruptions or downtime.
Inaccuracies in AI-generated content.

14. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time with reasonable notice.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. For consumers within the EU, mandatory consumer protection laws of their country of residence apply in addition. The courts of Hamburg, Germany, shall have exclusive jurisdiction for any disputes with merchants; for consumers, the statutory jurisdiction applies.
